Visual Editing Guide

The template provides two ways to edit your content: visual editing through the Presentation view and traditional editing through the Structure view. Here’s how to use both effectively.

Visual Editing (Presentation View)

The visual editing feature allows you to edit content directly on your page, seeing changes as you make them. However, there’s something important to note:

Important: Visual editing (Presentation view) is currently only available on the landing page. For all other pages, you’ll need to use the Structure view.

Using Visual Editing

  1. Click on “Presentation” in the top navigation bar
  2. You’ll see your landing page as it appears to visitors
  3. Click on any editable element to modify it
  4. Changes appear in real-time as you type
  5. Click “Publish” when you’re satisfied with your changes

What You Can Edit Visually

  • Hero section text and images
  • Section headings
  • Content blocks
  • Call-to-action buttons
  • Other landing page elements

Structure View Editing

For inner pages and advanced editing, you’ll use the Structure view:

  1. Click on “Structure” in the top navigation bar
  2. Navigate to the desired section in the left sidebar
  3. Make your changes in the editing panel
  4. Click “Publish” to make your changes live

When to Use Structure View

  • Editing any page other than the landing page
  • Making complex content changes
  • Modifying SEO settings
  • Updating site-wide configurations
  • Managing media and assets

Best Practices

  1. Save Frequently: Always click “Publish” after making important changes
  2. Preview Changes: Use the preview function to check how changes look before publishing
  3. Use the Right Tool:
    • Landing page quick edits → Presentation view
    • All other pages → Structure view
    • Complex changes → Structure view

Tips for Efficient Editing

  • Keep both views open in different tabs for quick switching
  • Use the Structure view for bulk changes
  • Remember to publish changes in both views if you’re switching between them
  • Check your changes on both desktop and mobile views

Need Help?

If you’re unsure which view to use:

  1. Start with the Structure view for reliability
  2. Use Presentation view for quick landing page updates
  3. When in doubt, the Structure view will always work for any type of content

Remember, while visual editing is more intuitive, the Structure view gives you complete control over all aspects of your site.
